The bronchofiberscopy has been popular in diagnosing pulmonary disease since 1968. Recently there are sore reports that fiberoptic bronchoscopy is a useful procedure for evaluating suspected cases of tuberculosis. In our country with higher prevalence rate of tuberculosis it is important to find out the cased with tuberculosis early. Bronchofiberscopy was performed in 101 cases of suspecter pulmonary and endobronchial tuberculosis from the clinical and roentgenographic findings. Sputum smear for the AFB was negative in all the patient before the examination. For the assessment of diagnostic yield, we considered only 75 cartes who were diagnosed as tuberculosis by bronchoscopic procedures and 6 months¡¯ clinical follow up observation. Though the bronchoscopic procedures, tuberculosis was confirmed by direct smear in 27.5%, biopsy in 62%, culture in 56.5% and in general we could get the final diagnostic yield of 77.3% (58/75 cases). There was one pneumothorax and one hemoptysis over 30§¢. Those complications required no specific metrical management.
